The Balanced Bandwagon

Maintaining A Dynamic Balance

The Balanced Bandwagon is anchored on the philosophy of  Dynamic Balance - our ability to maintain and improve health in the flow of life.

We  do this by, Magnifying Health - Seeing the big picture while focusing on the small details that drive well-being.

Our health bandwagon is an accumulation of knowledge, life experiences, mindsets and attitudes and habits. These influence how we feel and how we act.

The BB way teaches individuals to  constantly update and redefine feelings and actions through exploration and experimentation.

A “one size fits all” health plan, does not exist.

We must take ownership of our own health journey and curate health plans as per our priorities, interests and preferences – that is the BB Way!

The BB Way

The four wheels of the Balanced Bandwagon- Nourishment, Movement, Mindfulness & Relaxation enable a dynamic balance in Holistic Health.

Participation in the BB program is a continuous process, that requires a serious investment of time and effort. The program:

  • Uses behavioral management strategies
  • Leverages cognitive coaching techniques
  • Builds  knowledge and skills
  • Redefines mindsets and attitudes
  • Develops  emotional regulation
  • Moulds behavior and forms health habits

Emotional health is a critical driver of organizational successes it directly impacts productivity, innovation, and culture. Employees with strong emotional health are more engaged, resilient, and collaborative, making it essential for businesses to prioritize.

When emotional health is ignored, organizations face:

  •  Increased Burnout: The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes burnout as a workplace phenomenon, often tied to unaddressed emotional stress.
  • High Turnover Rates: Employees who feel emotionally unsupported are 2.6x more likely to look for new jobs (Gallup 2023 Workplace Report).
  •  Decreased Productivity: Emotional stress reduces focus and creativity, costing companies billions in lost productivity annually.

Emotional regulation is the foundation of emotional health

Emotional health is often misunderstood or conflated with mental health, but it’s distinct:

• Mental health refers to brain function and includes clinical diagnoses like depression or anxiety that may require therapy or medication.

• Emotional health, on the other hand, is about understanding, managing, and effectively using emotions. It impacts relationships, stress management, resilience, and ultimately workplace engagement, productivity, and culture.

At its core, emotional health shapes how we think, act  and respond to life. It affects our relationships, decision-making, and overall happiness. One of the most powerful tools to enhance emotional health is emotional regulation—the ability to recognize, understand, and control our emotions in constructive ways.

Workplace stress is one of the biggest challenges organizations face today. Recently,  the CEO of Gallup emphasized the worsening trends of stress, sadness, anxiety, and burnout over the last decade.

While many organizations offer mental health support and engagement initiatives, they often miss the root cause: emotional health -how people feel and respond at work. Managers, often expected to solve these issues, are struggling themselves, and the rapidly changing work environment only amplifies the problem.

Emotional Health is the missing link.

What is it?

The EHI is a comprehensive data-driven framework that evaluates Emotional health through the four wheels  i.e. Nourishment, Movement, Relaxation and Mindfulness.

It factors in  contextual factors like demographics, lifestyle, work environment , physical and mental health, etc to assess emotional health on a continuum. This is based on the premise that emotional regulation can be taught, practiced and improved  over time.

How it works?

At an Individual level :

  • EHI is aimed at building health behaviors in the 4 wheels of the BB Program to drive emotional resilience (i.e 'respondabitility' and 'bouncability') for better emotional regulation to improve  emotional health and  better manage stress, anxiety and other work and life challenges.

At an Organizational level :

  • EHI bridges the gap between emotional health and workplace performance, offering businesses a valuable lens into their teams’ well-being

Why does it matter?

EHI matters because it transforms the invisible (emotional health) into measurable insights, enabling individuals and organizations to take meaningful action for lasting success. EHI can :

  • Drive performance
  • Build resilience in the face of challenges
  • Reduce burnout and absenteeism
  • Empower through insights
  • Improve wellbeing / culture
  • Lead to evolved leadership
