Making your thinking work for you

The BB program is anchored on cognitive coaching via education and personalized one on one client coaching. As a coach I am also able to vary my coaching style to suit different clients - this enables me to listen better, communicate effectively and deeply understand where the client is at and what is hindering his/her progress.

As a health coach, I am good at-

  • understanding that people have different priorities, preferences and anxieties and can work around that.
  • empathizing and relating with people drawing on my personal experiences and professional expertise to build trust and confidence.
  • educating and changing mindsets via information sessions, conversations and coaching to enable behavior modification.
  • coaching individuals with care and patience to build skills that boost their confidence in their ability to consciously make better choices in various real life situations. I do this through role plays, story telling, visualisations etc.
  • being flexible and adaptable in my program to make it work for you rather than fitting you to my program, I work at  fitting the program to you.

Changing Mindsets

Changing mindsets is the precursor to long term behavioral change. In my work with clients I use cognitive coaching to help clients better understand their mind maps that drive behavior.

My Approach
Making consistent right choices is key to better health

APPROACH

Cognitive Coaching and Behavioral Management

As a health coach, I have had immense success with clients using the the TransTheoretical Model of Change (TTM), as it not only helps me understand the clients thinking and behavior  but enables me to respond to them.

Cognitive Coaching using TTM enables me to explore the thinking that drives client behaviour. It helps me to understand the client’s mindset and gain a clearer picture of why a behavior occurs. All human behaviours are driven via a cognitive map, however unconscious or partially conscious we may be of this.

Through the coaching sessions my focus is to help clients identify specific distortions (using cognitive assessment techniques like guided discovery, journaling, reflections, story telling) and biases in thinking and provide guidance on how to change their thought processes and self-talk and thus cause  behaviour modification.

My coaching sessions focus on education, reflection, brainstorming, self evaluation, questioning beliefs, understanding biases and prejudices to provide clarity on’ why we do what we do’?. I find using this style encourages active participation by the client in their own health journey and helps them own their resultant behaviours.

Client Consultations

It all begins with a simple email, message or phone call from you. No client interaction is typical, but broadly the process is as follows.

My process

PROCESS

Helping you do the things you do not want to do, to enable you to achieve the things you want

The program ranges anywhere from 4 months to a year. A 4 month program typically involves 16 sessions, which are a combination of education, skill building and practiced behaviour changes.

Sessions 1 - 8: are information intensive + 1 scheduled session + 2 calls/week

Sessions 9 - 12: discussion/ practice focus + 1 scheduled session + 2 call/week

Session 13 - 16: application based+ 1 scheduled session + call on need basis

Detailed program outline

The number and frequency of chats is mutually decided based on the clients availability and needs. The program is delivered via face to face or virtual personalized hour long scheduled sessions.

As the program progresses my role constantly switches between being an educator,  champion, coach, buddy or guide. This is moulded in response to the client’s needs and preferences.

The above approach elicits active client participation and  encourages active conversation and discussion which builds clarify to clients and ensures clients develop a health and wellness plan that is individually curated for them.

Building self-efficacy to enable Self-reliance

Sustainability is key to a  health plan. A successful client needs to have an unfaltering belief in their ability, this requires knowledge and skills to drive necessary behaviors.

The program aims to build both efficacy and therby enable clients to be self reliant . This ensures clients are set up for long term success.
